Menai High School opened in February 1988 with a student population of 375 enrolled in years 7 and 8. Our first principal was Don Harwin who was ably assisted by our deputy Mike Wilson. The School was officially opened by The Honourable Virginia Chadwick, Minister for School Education and Youth Affairs on Monday the 6th of April, 1992, the year of the school's first year 12 cohort. Following Mr Harwin's retirement in 1997, Mrs Edith McNally was appointed principal, a role she still holds today. From its beginnings, Menai High has enjoyed strong community support. Our P&C and School Council have assisted in the provision of our excellent facilities and in the formation of our current school policies and school culture. Menai High has produced an impressive array of achievements over its relatively short history. It's alumni have excelled in many fields including science, sport and performing arts.
